After more than three decades in Chester-le-Street, we’re proud to announce that Wensley Roofing has officially moved into our new headquarters on Team Valley, Gateshead.
This marks an exciting new chapter for the business – one that reflects how far we’ve come and where we’re heading next.
Since being established in 1987, Wensley Roofing has grown from a small, dedicated team into one of the North East’s leading roofing specialists. Our Chester-le-Street base has been home for the past 35 years, but continued growth and demand for our services meant it was time to move into a larger, more modern space to support the next stage of our development.
Our new facility on Team Valley provides significantly more space for our operations, including a dedicated storage unit for PV installation materials and a new section for leadwork. The additional capacity allows us to expand our services, streamline our operations, and create a better working environment for our team.
As Managing Director Steven Luke explains, “This is a huge milestone for Wensley Roofing. We’ve seen incredible growth in recent years, and the move reflects both the scale of our ambitions and our commitment to continuous improvement. The new site gives us the flexibility to deliver even more for our clients, invest in our people, and build on the strong foundations we’ve laid since 1987.”
The Team Valley location also offers improved accessibility and transport links, making it easier for both staff and clients to reach us.
In a nod to our history, we’ve preserved our original Wensley Roofing signage and logo from Chester-le-Street, which will proudly feature in the new offices as a reminder of our roots.
To mark the official opening, we held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with company founder Keith Soulsby doing the honours. It was a fitting way to celebrate how far we’ve come – and to look forward to what’s next.
“We’re proud of where we’ve come from and excited for what’s ahead,” Steven adds. “This move sets us up for the next stage of our growth – allowing us to continue delivering quality, reliability and innovation for our customers across the North East.”
